E.M. Skinner, Opus 414

Ernest Martin Skinner, the most sought after American organ builder in the first quarter of the twentieth century, completed his Opus 414 for First Methodist Church and its new home at the Chicago Temple, which were dedicated in September of 1924. 

The organ has served the congregation faithfully for almost one hundred years now, despite two catastrophic water leaks in the building during the last 30 years. A complete restoration of the organ is being planned in time to celebrate the one hundred year anniversary of the instrument and the building.
